The rates
What we charge, in full, before you ring.
How the charging works
The first hour is charged whole and includes coming out. After that it is by the half hour. There is no separate callout charge on top — quoting a callout and a full first hour is charging twice for the same hour, and plenty of people do it.
Out of hours
Evenings and Saturdays are half as much again on the labour. Sundays and bank holidays are three quarters more. A genuine emergency at any hour is double.
The multiplier is on the labour only. A tap does not cost more on a Sunday, and adding the multiplier to the whole invoice is the quiet way that weekend work gets overcharged.
Travel
The first twelve miles are in the callout. Beyond that it is 55p a mile, one way — we do not charge you for driving home.
If it turns out to be a different job
We stop and tell you before it becomes a different price. Every time.
